Me and Music

Hi everyone!
So, this blog's gonna be mainly all about me and my awesomely tiring life! This post, on the other hand, is going to be about what I think of music.
I've got a moment of boredom right now, so I decided to start a blog! Later on I need to go to city (again) for Speech Night, which I had to get to at 8 this morning for choir and band rehearsal, so it'd better pay off! But for now, I'll just include some things about me.

I play the flute, and did Grade 4 exams not so long ago-last Friday in fact! Amazingly enough, I got an A+. Congratulations to me! I know right! Anyway, I love playing flute. I've got asian parents, but strangely, they don't force me to play piano, which is why I don't! My friends all envy me for that. All the same, they reckon I should play piano, cause I've got long fingers-but I don't feel like it!
So I started flute in Year 3, as a random instrument that my parents wanted me to try. It was like literally a CHORE! Every night, I'd have to practise really boring songs, and listen to myself play awfully. And yes, I did get sick of it.
In Year 5, I pretty much gave up. I mean, when you just start flute, you think, I think flute sounds good, so I'll give it a try. Truth? It's hard! Beginners (no offense) sound like... Air! It's not a very nice tone.
So a year of no music, and then in Year 6, I thought, well, what's the point? I may as well give it a go again seeing as I don't really want to play any other instruments. So I took up my low quality, cheap made-in-China flute again, and actually practised willingly. For once, I actually wanted to learn, and do well. Of course, that might've been because dad made me listen to this awesome flute player, Ron Korb, and it sounded beautiful. She played so many different types of flutes (have you ever seen the ones that goes around like a swan's neck? It looks so AWESOME!) and I was like... Okay. I want to play piccolo someday!
Of course, first I had to learn flute. So I began private lessons, and I improved SO much just by practising every night! (and getting a new flute) And then I started high school, and, if you didn't know, MLC's this awesome music school! So obviously, I got shown just how crap I was.
Not that I didn't know already-I mean, my flute teacher's the guy who played the flute parts in Mao's Last Dancer, and he got all these awards and stuff. But I was actually against Year 8s who were grade 8! I was like.. WHAT!
So, from then on, I tried my best, therefore going for grade 3 at the beginning of the year, and getting an A. Immediately afterwards, I started preparing for grade 4. Anything to catch up with these freaks! It was getting lonely sitting at the back of the band! And I finished it last week, with an A+.
I am intending to do grade 5 next year (at the END of next year cause it's a whole new LEVEL!) So that's my flute history so far.

Now onto other musical things. I'm in choir, if that counts! Not much good though-I just do it for fun. Not like my friend, who's pro and has lessons in it. I'm in alto 2 (again, for fun) but funnily enough I can reach the low notes. That is not commenting on my actual voice tone by the way.

What do I like to listen to? Flute. I like to listen to covers that other flautists (who are better than me) do. I'll add some examples:

And yes, I've realised I used "so" a lot!
